Yamanaka (Japan). The Spiritual Exercises of the Provincials of the Provincial Conference of East Asia (CIAO), held in Yamanaka from 12 to 19 September 2019, have concluded.
The experience of the Spiritual Exercises began on 11 September 2019 with the visit to a vineyard and the grape harvest, to deepen the biblical text that recalls one of the most recurrent symbols in the Holy Scriptures and used by Jesus.
Accompanied by the wise reflection of Sister Maria Ko on the passage from the Wedding at Cana, which has many biblical references and references to oriental culture and the richness of the charism, the Provincials were able to deepen and internalize the passage that guides the preparation for the General Chapter XXIV, re-reading it in the light of the reality in which we live.
The welcoming environment offered by the community of Yamanaka, the beauty of the surrounding nature with great Mount Fuji, the rich silence of the presence of God, the fraternal presence of Don Giovanni Marsiglio, SDB, for the Eucharistic Celebration, allowed these days to be an opportunity to bring everything back to God and draw from Him the new wine for one’s life and for the communities.
The retreat concluded with the CIAO Conference meeting, for a concrete realization of the pastoral journey that is taking place and for the preparation of the upcoming April meeting in which we will share paths towards GC XXIV.
