Bangalore (India). On 15 November 2022, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of Sacred Heart of Jesus Provincial House (INK) in Bangalore had the joy of welcoming the Vicar General of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Fr. Stefano Martoglio, visiting since 12 November the SDB Sacred Heart Province (INK), accompanied by Fr. Jose Thomas Koyickal, Provincial, and by Fr. Shalbin Kalanchery Paul, Vicar.
At the entrance, the Provincial, Sr. Lucy Rose Ozhukayil, and the Provincial Councilors gave the guests a shawl and a bouquet as a sign of welcome. The young people in formation and the FMA then sang a welcome song and accompanied them towards the Chapel, where they thanked the Lord with a hymn.
Fr. Stefano Martoglio then addressed the FMA of the campus communities, thanking them for the warm welcome and expressing his joy for his first visit to India. He specified that, as Provincial of Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta in Italy, he also used to visit the houses of the FMA, as a sign of the family spirit and shared some news of the Salesian Family.
The presence of SF in India is very important, he said. Like Europe, in fact, India too can be compared to a continent, in terms of number and incidence of presence. In concluding, he shared his joy in seeing during his visit the growth of India as a Salesian presence.
The Provincial, Sr. Lucy Rose, thanked the Vicar General for dedicating part of the time of the Visit to the FMA and the Provincial for accompanying him. After writing a few lines in the “Visitor’s Book”, Fr. Stefano Martoglio continued his itinerary.
