Belo Horizonte (Brazil). Between 20 September and 25 October 2024, the Management, Administrative, and Technical Teams of the 12 Social Works of Mother Mazzarello Province (BMM) – that serve 2,125 children, adolescents, and young people – participated in specialized formation in Mapeo, Project Planning and Management, offered by the Salesian Network Brazil and taught by the Pro-Network team, based on the initiative of the Provincial Coordinator of Social Action of BMM, under the direction of Sister Glória Amorim.
The online meetings addressed fundamental topics such as Construction and Problem Analysis, Project Development, Mapping of Actors/Stakeholders, and Agenda System, always with a look at the specific reality of each institution. The learning environment, marked by the lightness and active participation of the Management, Administrative, and Technical Works Team, provided significant moments of exchange of experiences and collective construction of knowledge.
The practical and personalized methodology, led by trainer Ricardo Batista, a specialist with extensive experience in management and public policies, allowed the participants to add to the knowledge already acquired and experienced in the construction and execution of the Pastoral Socio-Educative Project in the Works, expanding their vision on project management. This approach reflects the true Salesian spirit of union between theory and practice, always in search of excellence in service to others.
“Of great importance is the development of skills aimed at good planning and execution of projects. Systematizing the processes allows a more assertive view of what is proposed, generating more efficient results and connected to the needs of those served, their families, and the whole community. Integrating communication into this understanding is essential, allowing it to be part of the processes from its conception to its conclusion. In addition, bringing communication even closer to the realities of the Works is, besides being a requirement for the good development of the work, a gift to the Teams’ wealth of knowledge”, underlined Cicero Albuquerque, Provincial Coordinator for Communication, who participated in the course.
The training course strengthened the commitment of the Social Works of the BMM Province towards an efficient and results-oriented management, in line with the Salesian charism that places the human person at the center of every action. The initiative demonstrates how the Salesian approach remains alive and current, adapting to contemporary management needs and social impact.
“Ricardo offered us content very adherent to the Salesian reality. Practical exercises allowed us to apply situations of our daily lives, understanding not only the gradual process of designing and implementing projects, but also the importance of each phase and how to implement it,” affirmed Patricia Evers, Coordinator of the Padre Giovanni Pini Youth Center in Aparecida de Goiânia, Goiás.
This training event represents an important stage in the journey of the BMM Province, reaffirming the commitment to an education capable of transforming that, just as Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello dreamed, continues to make a difference in the lives of many people. The systematic learning of project development strengthens the Social Works in their mission to promote the integral development of the people they assist, combining administrative efficiency with the Salesian charism.
