Rome (Italy). As announced by Mother Chiara Cazzuola in the Circular no. 1038, on 14 November 2024 the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians officially begin the three years of preparation for the 150 years of the first missionary expedition of 14 November 1877 which will have as its theme the well-known expression of Mother Mazzarello, “It is time to revive the fire!”:

Every celebration, every important anniversary, is a call to return to the roots of our history, to the sources of our spirituality. Let us recall, with joy and gratitude, the words of Pope Francis at the Chapter Assembly on 22 October 2021, “Do not forget the grace of the origins, the humility and the smallness of the beginnings that made God’s action transparent in the life and message of those who, filled with wonder, began this journey (Circ. 1038).

In this perspective, in a Letter Sister Ruth del Pilar Mora, Councillor for the Missions, and Sister Maria Ausilia De Siena, Councillor for Communication, write to the Provincials, Visitatory Superiors and Provincial teams:

we want to offer a concrete opportunity for participation and involvement in order to deepen the missionary passion proper to every disciple of the Lord. Therefore, we launch a competition for the creation of the Logo and Anthem that will accompany the numerous local and international initiatives. Graphics, music, dance are universal languages that enthuse children, young people, and adults and require reflection and depth to acquire expressive strength”.

With the invitation “to animate with enthusiasm the educating communities so that together we can ‘revive the fire’ that keeps alive hope and joy”, are available, translated into several languages:

  • Contest launch letter
  • The Regulations and the registration form
  • The ppt with historical notes on the first missionary expedition
  • The video presentation of the competition (playlist in different languages)
