Subiaco (Italy) From 13 to 16 July 2020, the first of the two events offered to young people aged 18 to 30 took place at San Biagio House of Prayer at Subiaco (Rome) of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Roman Province St. John Bosco (IRO), entitled “Paths of light”, which combines cinema and spirituality.
The heart of the experience is the vision of four films, each associated with a passage from the Word of God, which lead to reflection on the questions of life, as the flyer illustrates: “a proposal addressed to all young people who are not afraid to ask themselves difficult questions and even less to set off on a journey in search of answers, even by choosing very unconventional paths. ”
To the six young participants, Sister Linda Pocher – FMA, Professor of Marian Spirituality at the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences “Auxilium” – offered the Lectio of passages from Sacred Scripture, providing keys to understanding the films useful for the spiritual journey of each and to try to read everyday life with new eyes. Following, there was a time of sharing and group reflection.
“I was very impressed with the effectiveness of this process because it helped me to take in hand a recapitulation of the work of a recent phase of my life, a job that I had started during the quarantine and that I had put aside recently. Through this experience I found and recalled in a simple way the questions and yearnings that have guided me in recent years, giving me the opportunity to have a clearer awareness today of ‘where’ I am and what choices to make.” This is the testimony of Diego who lived this experience. The second retreat will take place from 29 July to 2 August 2020.
