Rome (Italy). On 30 March 2025, during the Good Night, the Mother General of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Sister Chiara Cazzuola, communicated to Mary Help of Christians Community of the Generalate (RCG) the destination of the six new FMA missionaries.
The new missionaries, coming from four Provinces and two continents, received their missionary assignment at the end of a period of discernment and prayer, with the accompaniment of the Councilor for the Missions, Sister Ruth del Pilar Mora.
The destination of the new missionaries:
Sister Gayo Cecilia (URU )
Our Lady of Peace Province – Bolivia (BOL)
Sister Pham Thi Lai Marie (VTN)
Mary Mother of the Church Preprovince (RMC)
Sister Ramírez Sánchez Catherine Ivonne (CIL)
Saint Joseph Province – Antilles (Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Rep.) ( ANT)
Sister Sangma Beronica (INS)
Sacred Family Province – Lombardy, Italy (ILO)
Sister Tran Thi Hong Loan Maria Goretti (VTN)
Our Lady Aparecida Province – Sao Paulo, Brazil (BAP)
Sister Tran Thi Huyen Maria Bosco (VTN)
Pacific Region Province (SPR) – Australia, Solomon Islands, and Samoa
Communicating the destinations, Mother invited to pray more fervently for missionary vocations:
“We are in the first year of preparations for the 150th of the missions and we must ask the Lord with more faith to inspire holy missionary vocations. We are all missionaries – according to the charismatic missionary nature linked to the ‘da mihi animas cetera tolle’ and ‘I entrust them to you’ – but we know that the Institute from the beginning was distinguished by this courage, by this daring to cross the ocean and go immediately, after five years, to bring the proclamation.”
She then expressed gratitude to both these Sisters “who have accepted this vocation and will respond with their resources and abilities,” as well as to the Provincials of the Provinces of origin and to those who will welcome them:
“When we face a missionary vocation, we must also take another step: the mission is not only of the person who responds. The community, the Province that welcomes them, must also make a missionary journey, that is, to prepare themselves to welcome those who come from different cultural and linguistic contexts, sometimes continental. We accompany this process because it is not simple.”
The new missionaries will leave in the coming months, after having lived the Spiritual Exercises in Mornese (11-18 May 2025) and the charismatic pilgrimage to the place of origin, which will end with participation in the Feast of Mary Help of Christians on 24 May 2025 in Turin.
Meanwhile, the sisters continue their formation in preparation for the mission ad gentes, attending some courses at the Urbanianum University, and some of the teachings of the Spirituality Course of the FMA Institute of the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences “Auxilium” in Rome (Mother Ersilia Canta House); in apostolic and parish service, and in the fraternal community experience of the FMA Generalate. They will also live, as participants or volunteers, the Jubilee of Adolescents (25-27 April 2025).
