For the thirty years of presence of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Slovenian-Croatian Province “Saint Mary of Brezje” (SLC) in Radlje ob Dravi in Slovenia.
Radlje ob Dravi (Slovenia). Thirty years of presence of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Slovenian-Croatian Province “Saint Mary of Brezje” (SLC) in Radlje ob Dravi – Slovenia have been fruitful for the local population.
The fact is also highlighted by the municipality of Radlje, which during the annual celebrations to the Patron Saint of the parish church of St. Michele, gives the community a recognition of honor, the reasons for which are given in full below:
“Thirty years of presence and work of the Salesian Sisters – Community of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians – marked our church, all the local faithful, and gave the seal of good in their area of work, which is certainly widely visible and worthy of recognition, and this thanks for all the good done by them. The names of the sisters, about 20, who have followed one another in these thirty years testify that each of them knew how to be present in the mission entrusted to her. Many good and recognizable things have happened in common events, in experience, and in collaboration with us, in our Municipality of Radlje in past years, which leaves a solid and deserved seal and a proof of goodness and commitment…
Working and caring for young people – catechesis, oratory, introduction to the culture of singing … Religious education, alongside prayer, meetings of religious groups … Cooperation with institutions: compulsory school Radlje, Caritas, parish pastoral council, the choirs … The sisters were above all a model of humility, in a genuine attitude towards people and with their generosity and profound religious knowledge, they enriched our daily life, which is now much richer and makes us happier. Each of them engages in her own tasks in her field of work, and above all in prayer, in which she finds strength for her mission and also for the good of us simple citizens”.
The FMA are grateful to have been greeted with kindness not only in Radlje but throughout the Drava valley, where they will continue to work for the benefit of the young people and the families.
