Cachoeira do Campo, (Brazil). On 25 and 26 April 2023, at the Hotel Fazenda Retiro das Rosas, in Cachoeira do Campo, the meeting of the work commissions of Mother Mazzarello Province (BMM) took place, to share the work and activities that each team is carrying out.
The creation of the BMM Commissions is the result of the commitment carried forward in the construction of the Strategic Planning of the Province, seeking to develop action plans starting from the guidelines designed to respond to the needs of the Educational Units (Schools) and Socio-educational (Social Works). The program of the Days included interventions and dynamics on the Salesian charism, spirituality, innovation, and leadership.
About fifty participants belonging to the seven Commissions were present at the meeting: for Communication, Finance, FMA Formation, Personnel Management, Pastoral, Pedagogical, and Social Commissions.
Upon their arrival, the participants were greeted by music and a special symbolic gift: a sandal, symbol of the journey in synodality of the FMA Presences, to reaffirm the commitment to simplicity, humility, and affection which translate some of the values of the Province imbued with the Salesian spirit that characterizes educational activities.
Furthermore, in order to strengthen the sense of belonging, each member of the Commissions received a binder of the #IoSonoParte campaign, with their respective names and photos, as well as a letter of welcome to warm their hearts and stimulate their work.
At the opening of the first morning, an intense moment of spirituality and knowledge took place, followed by an activity on the theme “Leadership and innovation: building professional and social strengths”, led by psychologist Alysson Ramos.
During the day, the Commissions also had the opportunity to present the key points they have assumed and explored starting from the Planning, evaluating the possibilities and needs of interchange between all the dimensions present, as well as the next steps to be taken.
The second day began with an insight into the charism, recalling the relationship between Mother Mazzarello and Don Bosco in their attention to young people, to strengthen the commitment to revive the Salesian style of approaching the world.
At the end of the meeting, Sr. Amélia Assis de Castro, Councilor for the Missions, on behalf of the BMM Provincial Council, thanked all the members of the Commissions for their presence and work together, for the sense of belonging, of adherence to the Salesian Charism lived for the education and formation of all educators and collaborators who share the educational pastoral mission. “We recall the urgency of working on vocational culture, the accompaniment of young people throughout their growth process, and the proclamation with the word and testimony of the person of Jesus Christ, so that He may be known and loved. Thank you to the referents of the Commissions, an extraordinary team, committed to taking on the Salesian Charismatic Mission”, she said in her final greeting.
