Panama City. On January 23, 2019, the Forum and the World Festival of the SYM are held at the Basilica of St. John Bosco in Panama City.
The Forum brings together around 200 participants from 30 countries on all five continents. It is a way to reflect on the theme of WYD: “Here I am, the servant of the Lord, let it be done to me according to your word”.
There will be a special encounter with the Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, and the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Mother Yvonne Reungoat, who will dialogue with the young people on the theme of Discernment and Vocation.
In the following days, the young will be able to visit the Salesian Family Pavilion at the Vocation Fair which will remain open and available to young people from all over the world during the WYD week. It is an important exhibition space, where all the Congregations who wish to make a vocational invitation to the young pilgrims will be represented. The Salesians of Don Bosco, the Daughters of the Divine Savior, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Salesian Cooperators, and Volunteers with Don Bosco will be present at the Salesian Family pavilion.
We will continue with the Mass, presided by the Rector Major of the Salesians, at the Basilica of Don Bosco, the authentic Salesian Spirituality Center, the “Valdocco of America”. The Festival will start in the afternoon and about 3,500 people are expected who will meet together in the typical spirit of the oratory, with music, joy, and cultural presentations.
In the evening they will meet for the prayer vigil and the ‘good night’ of the Rector Major and the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
