Yvonne Reungoat, Superior General of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, together with 4 General Councilors: Sr. Silvia Boullosa, Sr. Maria Luisa Miranda, Sr. Marija Pece, Sr. Maria Nieves, the Provincials and FMA delegates of the CINAB Provinces: Bolivia Our Lady of Peace, Colombia: Bogotá O. L. of the Rosary Chiquinquirá, Bogotá O.L. of the Snow, Medellín Mary Help of Christians, Medellín St. Mary Mazzarello, Ecuador Sacred Heart, Peru Saint Rose of Lima, and Venezuela St. John Bosco.
“The three-year evaluation is an opportunity that the Institute offers to revive awareness of our charismatic identity, re-read what we have experienced in the light of the Word of God and the challenges of today, and plan with new hope for the future. The evaluation is a significant experience for all of us to see once again the impact that the great slogan has on us and on the communities: “Broaden Your Vision! With the Young, Missionaries of Hope and Joy” (GC XXIII).
The day of August 8 begins with morning prayer animated by the Province of Peru, and with the Eucharist, presided by the Provincial, Fr Francisco Sánchez, SDB who in his message invites us to drink at the well that does not run dry, to return to Jesus, to focus on His person, His message. At the opening of the Verifica, Sr. Beatriz Navarro, President of CINAB, presents the synthesis of the realities of each country and the answer given by the Institute within the Church. Then we move on to the creative presentation of each Province and its delegates. At the end Mother General, Mother Yvonne Reungoat, stresses the importance of the sense of unity and of the encounter which strengthens charismatic fidelity.
At mid-morning, the participants are urged to experience the Verifica in the style of participation, collaboration, and inclusiveness. Subsequently, Sister Janet Aguirre guides the reflection on the biblical passage of the Samaritan Woman using the method of Lectio Divina, focusing on pastoral conversion.
The work in the afternoon begins with the words of Mother who highlights our being a great intercultural family, united by the same will to evaluate the journey of the three years of GC XXIII in the Salesian spirit, to understand what happens in life that prevents this from coming to life … “We let ourselves be questioned by Jesus at the well. The first encounter that transforms us is our relationship with Jesus; from here all encounters are born. Let us allow ourselves to be found by Him, letting ourselves be welcomed by Him; welcome His gaze of love full of energy; we fill our hearts to be more and more like Him. Jesus has chosen for us the path of incarnation to be a visible and credible sign, a sign that attracts, that is contagious. We live in a world crossed by constant challenges: mistrust in institutions, lack of fidelity to promises made, distrust of people, the migratory phenomenon. The world is constantly changing and nobody can stop it…”
The first group work focused on the first choice of pastoral conversion “transformed by the encounter” and in the light of Mother’s words, the participants formed eight groups for resonance and sharing of experience.
After, Bishop Andrés Carrascosa, Apostolic Nuncio in Ecuador, addressed a message on the consecrated life to the participants.
In the evening, St. Mary Mazzarello Province shared the experience of vocation animation, a proposal that responds to the conviction that the vocational dimension is intrinsic to the whole process of education as a formation plan.
May Mary accompany and inspire each participant to ““Broaden Your Vision! With the Young, Missionaries of Hope and Joy”.
