Sam Phran (Thailand). Sam Phran, Thailand, is hosting the Triennial Verification of the East Asia Interprovincial Conference(CIAO) from 9 to 13 February 2018. The conference includes 9 Provinces. The Triennial Verification has a double aim: evaluate the post-chapter journey and offer indications for the theme of the next Chapter XXIV.
The participants at the CIAO Triennial verification are 43: Mother General with the Councilors: Sr. Maria Assunta Sumiko Inoue, Reference person for CIAO, Sr. Runita Borja, Sr. Alaide Deretti, and Sr. Paola Battagliola; 28 FMA, 7 lay people and 5 young people.
On February 9, 2018, memorial of Blessed Eusebia Palomino, the verification began with the solemn celebration of the Eucharist. The Liturgy was animated by the Vietnam Province. The entrance procession had seven impressive symbols: the flags of the 14 nations present, a video-recorder (the three choices), and candles as a reminder of the presence of Mary.
After the solemn invocation of the Holy Spirit, there were the greetings of the Provincial, Sr. Nipha Rangabpit, President of the East Asia Interprovincial Conference, and Sr. Alma Castagna, and the presentation of the participants by Province.
This time of welcome was following by Mother’s presentation which shared with depth and concreteness, the Lectio Divina on the Biblical passage of the ‘Disciples of Emmaus’ (Lk 24:13-27).
In the afternoon, there the sharing of the fruits of the reflection and the experiences implemented in the Provinces took place. Then the group work sought to identify convergences and actions to implement as they dialoged and discerned.
During these days, they will present the summaries of the Verifications the Conference prepared by gathering the journeys present in the Provinces. Times of reflection and interiorization will alternate with dialog and sharing groups. Reflection will continue with the unitary presentation of the journey of the assumption of the Constitutions and discernment and identification of the theme for GCIV.
