Varsavia (Poland). On 27 July 2024, at the Missionary Center in Warsaw, Sister Maria Assunta Sumiko Inoue, Visiting Councilor of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, had a meeting with the Counselors, the Animators, and the Superior of Mother of God Preprovince (EEG). Sister Maria Assunta had expressed the desire to meet in person the Sisters of the Communities of the 4 Countries that are part of the East Europa – Georgia Preprovince, before the canonical visit planned for the year 2025.

After arriving at the airport and the Sisters’ festive welcome, Sister Maria Assunta made a short visit to the Mission Center. After lunch, the Sisters of the EEG Preprovince, with the Superior, Sister Malgorzata Pietruszczak, gathered for an afternoon of work and reflection on the theme of Matthew, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Mt 5:9), led by the Councilor.

First in assembly and later in working groups, the Sisters analyzed the concepts of peace in the traditional culture and of the culture of peace, to better understand the true significance of this precious gift according to the Church’s teachings, to live as Christians, and to transmit to the new generations the true value of peace.

In this time of conflict, which it is experiencing in first person with its own Educating Communities, together with the world community of the Institute, the EEG Preprovince undertakes to “to accompany the young people and support them in their search for the meaning of life, in building a future of peace, solidarity, social friendship, responsibility for the common home” (cf. Acts CG XXIV, no. 14).

Grateful to God for this time of fraternal sharing and grace, the FMA of the Preprovince continue their mission in incessant prayer for peace and implore the gift to be builders of peace in the environments where they work, according to the words of the prophet Isaiah, Lord, you will decree peace for us, for you have accomplished all we have done!” (Is 26:12)
