Rome (Italy). The Spirit of God gives spaces for fraternity, reflection, and gratitude. On 2 October 2021, on the Feast of the Guardian Angels, the Chapter members gathered in Rome for the XXIV General Chapter, express gratitude to Mother Yvonne Reungoat, Superior General of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
The day takes place in a Mornese atmosphere of joy and praise to the Lord in communion with the whole Institute in the world. In the prayer of Lauds, some Chapter members representing the 5 Continents, perform the gesture of pouring water into a jar as a symbol of synodality, missionary spirit, listening, discernment, care, accompaniment, which Mother Yvonne pours out on earth, as a sign of communion between the Provinces of the FMA Institute.
In the Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga, Superior of the Preprovince “Mary Seat of Wisdom” – UPS, we remember the many signs of generativity that Mother Yvonne sowed in the heart of every Daughter of Mary Help of Christians and thank the Lord for her life given with enthusiasm and daring in the thirteen years of service to the FMA Institute, promoting the culture of life and being with the young communities that generate joy and hope.
At the end of the Eucharist, the assembly imposed the blessing on Mother, a sign of belonging and of the presence of God, singing: “May the Lord bless her and keep her and let His face shine upon her, goodness and mercy forever be upon her”.
In the evening, with the joy of simple hearts, the feast is celebrated with songs, symbols, and the magic of gratitude.
Mother thanks God for the FMA Institute, a large family that must continue to be taken care of by spreading the Salesian charism. “We are called to work together, sharing the gifts received from the Lord with an open and grateful heart. God does not stop manifesting His love. We are called with Him, to be together with young people in the world, and to be a sign of light and hope”.

Nesta hora final, quero manifestar o meu profundo agradecimento pela vida da nossa querida Madre Yvonne. Para mim foi uma mãe, na compreensão e no acompanhamento aquando da minha ida à família para cuidar da minha mãe que ela muito agradeceu e apreciou.
Que Maria Auxiliadora continue a protegê-la e acompanhá-la sempre.
Querida Madre, somos a Comunidade Provincial da Inspetoria Nossa Senhora de Fátima e como tantas e tantas outras FMA queremos dizer-lhe uma vez mais a nossa GRATIDÃO por toda a sua entrega à frente do nosso Instituto durante estes 13 anos. A nossa gratidão faz-se oração pelo que foi, pelo que é para o Instituto e para a Igreja. A sua alegria deu-nos muita esperança e coragem. BEM-HAJA! Queremos festejar também o seu ser ‘Irmã entre as Irmãs’ onde quer que o Senhor a queira futuramente. Agora, unimos as nossas vozes à sua para implorar as luzes do Espírito Santo sobre a escolhida pelo Senhor para a suceder e que a Virgem de Fátima seja a Mãe carinhosa que acompanha solícita. Bem-haja, querida Madre Yvonne!
Gracias, Madre Yvonne, por estos años de entrega. Por contagiarnos alegría y esperanza en cada palabra, en cada gesto, por guiar al Instituto con sabiduría, por tu aportación femenina a la Iglesia , por hacernos experimentar que estar cerca de ti es una suerte y un privilegio, por animarnos siempre a apostar por los más vulnerables, por emocionarte con naturalidad, por esa pasión que contagias, por tus cartas mensuales que invitaban siempre a la reflexión profunda y al compromiso, por querer siempre un Instituto en salida, y sobre todo por transparentar que ÉL es el motor y la fuente de tu energía… ¡¡tantos motivos para agradecerte personalmente y como Instituto! Y una única forma de hacerlo: ser una FMA “como Dios manda” coherente, feliz, cuya vida genere interrogantes. ¡En ello estoy! Tu testimonio de vida me sirve de espejo… ¡Gracias, Madre Yvonne!
Grazie, Madre, perché hai dato tutto di te, facendoci scoprire il tesoro di santità nascosto nel tuo cuore. Non hai mai risparmiato nulla, hai sparso a piene mani e di tutto cuore la tua fede, la tua maternità, la tua gioia … Mai ti sei fermata a considerare soltanto il peso che portavi sulle spalle. E allora il peso è diventato leggero anche per le tue figlie. GRAZIE, MADRE!
