Recife (Brazil). From 8 to 19 October 2018 the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians is on a visit to “Mary Help of Christians” Province (BRE).
In the family spirit, Mother Yvonne Reungoat was welcomed at the Recife airport by the sisters and formandees who manifested joy, celebration, and love.
Mother comes to this Province of Brazil to know its reality and the sisters through personal encounters, to share the culture and traditions of a rich and fruitful land in the Salesian spirit. The visit takes place during the missionary and Marian month and is a time of graces and opportunities to grow in faith and in being missionary disciples.
As Elizabeth welcomed Mary, so the Provincial community of Recife gives thanks to God for the long-awaited and desired presence of Mother Yvonne, a pilgrim, missionary, sister, and companion in the Brazilian province.
“The visit aims to strengthen the bond of charity, the commitment of fidelity to the Constitutions, and stimulate the growth of the mission in response to local needs, in the spirit of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello”.
During the visit, the Mother will meet all the sisters, students, educators, the various groups of the Salesian Family, and the Provincials of Brazil.
The slogan chosen for this moment: Missionaries of communion, hope and joy, and recalls Mother Mazzarello, who lived the missionary dimension of the Institute. Mother Yvonne has made herself a pilgrim visiting 94 countries of the five continents, bringing the sisters and the educational communities joy and the beauty of the Gospel and the Salesian charism
Blessed is she who comes in the name of the Lord! The visit is a moment of communion, of encounter, and of joy.
