Rome (Italy). On 7 and 8 October 2023, at the Casa Retiro das Rosas in Cachoeira do Campo, Minas Gerais, the General Councilor for the Administration of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Sister Ena Veralis Bolaños, on an animation visit to the Brazilian Provinces, met Animators and FMA of Mother Mazzarello Province (BMM) on the theme, “Towards an economy that generates life!”
In the previous days of 5 and 6 October, she had participated in the #Innovate and Transform all’Strategic management assembly, with the Referents of the school communities, social works, and the indigenous mission.
Sister Ena shared some topics such as: “The charismatic roots of administration,” “Aspects of canon law, proper law, and civil law,” and “Sustainable solidarity economy” to strengthen the commitment to cultivating integral ecology, translating it into an approach that considers the relationships between human beings and the world, the common home.
Among the topics covered there was not only the call for change and unity to fight environmental degradation and climate change as proposed in the encyclical Laudato Si’ by Pope Francis, but also the financial sustainability of the FMA institutions, recognizing it as a vital component in the development of this process. This reinforces the central idea of the encyclical, that “everything is interconnected.”
After the meeting, the Councilor visited the provincial headquarters, where she had the opportunity to meet the BMM administrative team, before continuing her journey towards other equally significant presences in the Province.
Sister Ena’s presence in the Province contributes to reviving its mission, promoting a synodal and synergistic approach in the incessant search for an economy that concretely nourishes and strengthens life.
