Bratislava (Slovakia). On February 18, 2021 the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Slovak Province of St. John Bosco (SLK) activated the FMA Kompas Project, a listening service for those in need.
In daily life, especially in this time of the Covid-19 pandemic, during which social relationships are reduced, moments of solitude can occur where there is less possibility of sharing what one experiences and a point of reference to find safety and re-orient your life.
From this situation, Project Kompas FMA is born (Compass): “Sometimes it happens that we lose our confidence and try to find our way back.” – explains Sister Monika Méryová, the creator of the Project – “Being able to express one’s doubts and thoughts is good, so we want to offer an ear and a heart that listens, to complete a stretch of road together with those who experience loneliness, and provide the opportunity to ask questions and express their desires. It is important to have a compass that can guide us in every moment of our life, to have a space and a person who can accompany or support us. We try to offer this compass.”
The service consists of a free telephone line through which, from Monday to Friday, it is possible to get in touch with a Daughter of Mary Help of Christians of the SLK Province who makes herself available with simplicity, to offer listening and a good word.
Christus Vivit n. 292.
