Belo Horizonte (BMM). On 28 November 2023 in Belo Horizonte, in the headquarters of Mother Mazzarello Province (BMM), Gift Day was celebrated, the culmination of the campaign promoted by the Brazil Salesian Network (RSB).
Gift Day promotes a culture of gift giving, to strengthen solidarity and generosity in communities. This year the RSB, through its fundraising sector for Salesian social action in the country, Union for Life (UPV), paid particular attention to the socio-environmental perspective. Inspired by the mission of Don Bosco Green Alliance America and the Movimento Laudato Si’, the goal was not only to promote donations, but also to emphasize the importance of responsibility towards the environment in daily actions. Indeed, in celebrating the joy of gift giving and solidarity in all its dimensions, we recognize that every help has the power to change life and reality.
The Campaign, which began on 27 September, involved the Salesian presences from all over Brazil, encouraging actions aimed at the care of the common home, with the awareness that “everything is connected”!
In the headquarters of Mother Mazzarello Province of Belo Horizonte, the whole team, dressed in green to strengthen the theme of the Campaign, took action to donate food in the surrounding area.
In addition, the proposal of the RSB also provided for lighting the monuments in green so that, for this very important cause, the light colored the statue of Mother Mazzarello present outside the building, inaugurated in the 150th edition of the FMA Institute.
Although the campaign is over, it continues with the hope that the memory of this Day, an occasion to celebrate life, to take care of others, and to take care of relationships, may continue to stimulate the desire to move forward in the direction of solidarity and care for the common home.
