Rome (Italy). From 19 to 23 September 2022, the SDB Change Congress will be held in Rome at the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS), an event wanted by the Economer General of the Salesian Congregation to “strengthen the ability to network in the economic field through the promotion of connection and sharing” between the Economers, the Heads of the Planning and Development Offices (PDO), and the Procurers, with regional meetings and international seminars.
The main objective of the “SDB Change Congress” is to conceive and experience change as an opportunity to improve. The SDB Change Congress intends, in fact, to give a regenerative impulse to all the Salesians of Don Bosco in the world, to their collaborators and to all those who spend themselves for the integral good of young people.
In particular, the appointment conceived by Mr. Jean Paul Muller, SDB, Economer General of the Congregation, and his collaborators, intends to focus on five macro-areas of interest in order to provide solutions and guidelines to better face social and economic changes and environmental issues that the world is experiencing: Sustainable Economy, Salesian Spirituality and Leadership, Artificial Intelligence, Communication of the Future, and Prevention of Corruption.
During the Congress, reports will be presented by Salesians and lay people, prominent personalities in these areas, and round tables for discussions on various aspects, according to the Program, which also provides for some cultural outings for the participants.
“On the agenda of the Congress we have included various topics, which we are going to describe below, but the most important and decisive part are the participants (provincial Economers, managers of the PDO development offices, directors of procurers and of the fundraising sector, etc.). Through their experiences and their challenges, we will focus on future perspectives, which we will learn to take into account our traditions to create new things, to continue to transmit Don Bosco’s ideas to young people,” underlines Mr. Jean Paul Muller, SDB.
Among the Speakers, will be Card. João Braz de Aviz, Prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life; Card. Peter Turkson, Chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences; the Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime; Fr Pascual Chávez Villanueva, Rector Major emeritus; Fr. Andrea Bozzolo, Rector Magnificent of the Salesian Pontifical University; Fr. Fabio Attard, Consultor of the Dicastery for Laity, Family, and Life and Coordinator of the Formation of Salesians and Laity in Europe, and others.
The event will also be attended by the General Councilor for Administration of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Sr. Ena Veralís Bolaños, and some collaborators from the Sector.
For interested members and collaborators of the Salesian Family, the event can be followed in live streaming on the social channels.
